FACTS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE

1. It is concerned with the magnetic properties of certain nuclei,notably the nucleus of the hydrogen atom.
2. Studying an organic molecule by NMR spectroscopy enables us to record difference in the magnetic properties of the various nuclei present and to deduce in large measure what are the positions of these nuclei within the molecule.
3. We can, for proton NMR, deduce how many different kinds of hydrogen environments that are in the molecule and also which hydrogen atoms are present in neighbouring carbon atoms.
4. It has been found and hat nuclei with even atomic numbers and even mass numbers does not exhibit NMR. e.g Helium -4, Carbon -12 and Oxygen -16.

Nigerian singer Davido,The DMW boss has announced his upcoming new song featuring American female rapper Nicki Minaj. Davido  is definitely not stopping anytime soon with his penetration of International Market as he is set to feature the huge American Female star. The DMW boss took to his Twitter handle today to announce the coming of a song he already recorded with  Nicki Minaj  which is produced by Speroach Davido also announced that he would be releasing his third studio album titled “A Better Time” in July. The new album would come barely eight months after the release of his second studio album titled “A Good Time”. A Good Time was released on November 22, 2019, through Davido Music Worldwide, RCA Records and Sony Music. The album featured American superstar Chris Brown and Jamaican singer Popcaan, among others.

A mass spectrometer consists of three components: an ion source, a mass analyzer, and a detector.  The  ionizer  converts a portion of the sample into ions. There is a wide variety of ionization techniques, depending on the phase (solid, liquid, gas) of the sample and the efficiency of various ionization mechanisms for the unknown species. An extraction system removes ions from the sample, which are then targeted through the mass analyzer and into the  detector . The differences in masses of the fragments allows the mass analyzer to sort the ions by their mass-to-charge ratio. The detector measures the value of an indicator quantity and thus provides data for calculating the abundances of each ion present. Some detectors also give spatial information, e.g., a multichannel plate. A mass spectrum is a plot of the ion signal as a function of the mass-to-charge ratio. These spectra are used to determine the elemental or  isotopic signature  of a sample, the masses of particles
