The long awaited result of The Oke Ogun Polytechnic ,Saki Student’s Union Election has been declared.Hussein Akeem Adewale was announced as the new Students’ Union President with votes cast of 718 to defeat his counterpart, Yusuf Ibrahim Adedare who had votes cast of 509.
The students’ union election committee releases the election results that was conducted on the 31st of October 2019,today,Friday,17th of January 2020. The election announcement that was supposed to be held at Old 500 capacity hall by 9am was delayed due to the late arrival of some TOPS’ dignitaries and the contestants, the commencement of the programme began exactly at 9:24am in which the School management apologized for the delay and admonished the students to always be of good behaviour and take the outcome of the results in good fate.
The acting Rector,Esv K.O Ogunmola, gave the welcoming and introductory speech respectively,whereby he said the SUE results will be announced and students-elect will be sworn in, while the SRC election will be conducted soon.
The SUE committee acknowledged the dignitaries for partaking in the SUE final result collated. Afterwards,the election results were projected on the screen which announced Hussein Akeem Adewale as the new Students’ Union President with votes cast of 718 to defeat his counterpart, Yusuf Ibrahim Adedare who had votes cast of 509.
This announcement was made and finalized by the Dean of the Students’ Affairs,Mr O.M Adeoti, which made the opposing contestant,Yusuf Ibrahim, caused an uproar aftermath the announcement of the final results,agitating and claiming that the final results were “tampered with” and wasn’t a free and fair one.
